Welcome to Langdale Valley News Online
Issue 2 April 2008
We are a small group of local residents who are sure that Langdale and area is a very special place and want to do our bit to help it stay that way. Our concerns are conservation, with the environment and planning angles being very important.
But we are not against change though it needs careful watching and preferably managing. Let us know of any community matters which concern you - this website aims to help.
Our paper newsletter was started in 1986 by David Fry, shop owner and publican; the incentive then was the arrival of the Langdale Timeshare, which many locals felt would greatly change Langdale; this turned out not to be the case, and the Timeshare is now a respected partner in the valleys, making progress every year in environmental and community ways.
This website offers so much space and full colour and has now become our main newsletter but you can download a paper version off it, should you wish.
We invite all local voluntary organisations to contribute articles and take a page here to tell us of work and progress at nil cost; you are very welcome.
We are always seeking articles on Langdale and area and welcome interesting contributions and photographs from anyone. Send a digital photo for our Gallery, we would be pleased to hear from you and display good ones for all to see.
We hope to hear from you.
This newsletter seeks an active Assistant Editor with computer experience who would like to help the newsletter and update the website quarterly. Contact the editor - see contact page
